God forbid; but if you died today, do you know for sure that you would go to heaven?
The Bible makes it very plain that a person can know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, if they will go to heaven. Many religions and bible versions attempt to confuse people about how to know if they are saved (born again) by being forgiven of their sins through placing their faith and trust in the death, burial and ressurrection of Jesus Christ. Please read the following bible verses to find out how to go to heaven.
1. You must understand that every person has sinned against God and needs salvation. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” What is sin? Please look at the Ten Commandments. Have you kept these? No one has.
2. You must realize you cannot save yourself. Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
3. You must believe that Jesus can save you. In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the father but by me.”
4. You can be saved right now. You can know for a fact that you have eternal life in heaven RIGHT NOW! Romans 10:9-13 says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
5. If you repent and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and that he died as payment for your sins, you can pray right now and ask Him to save you. He has promised that if you will ask Him, He WILL save you. If you would like to get saved now and don't know what to say, here is an example of what you might want to say to the God:
Dear God, I believe that Jesus is your son. I believe I have sinned against you and need to be saved. Please forgive me of my sins through the blood of Jesus and save my soul. Thank you Lord for saving me as you have promised you would. Help me to turn from sin and live my life for you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
